What do i do if got scammed by couple that gave me a cashiers check, i deposited it and it came back 2 days ?

it came back two days later from my bank as bad,co that check got stolen from took back the $3000 out of my acct and it cause some bad financial issues. who is responsible for this and how do i recoup the $2000 that i lost due to charges and overdrafts?
