What is the concept of truth?

I suppose what I am really wondering is does truth really exist? I find it hard to label anything in this world as being "true". Does anyone else go through this as well? What makes something "true"? Some people say it is what can be proven. Others show that they seem to believe that all truth revolves around their own beliefs. Some even say all truth is in one book, doent, or code. It seems as if these people are too trusting...I wouldn't promote or demote any of these ideas too quickly. It's strange to me as to how confident people, in general, are of their own beliefs...I almost envy them. I can't get myself to believe anything, but perhaps that's a good thing. What do you think about this?
