What's a good graphic novel for a teenage girl?

I've already read Ghost World. I sort of liked that one; but I read a lot of manga/anime, and I want to start reading REAL comics. One's made by Americans, preferably about fantasy/sci-fi/superheros. Please don't put down any with smut. I'm not into that stuff. XD
