How to get south american gar to eat pellets?

i have a south american gar (which is really a pike that looks like a gar) along with 2 pacus, 3 african cichlids, 2 jack dempseys, a red pike, and a african brown knife. this is a grow out tank so dont try to bust me about the pacus. i have everyone in the tank eatinng pellets, brine shrimp, blood worms, and dried krill except for the gar. i dont like giving them live fish because it makes them more aggressive. the other fish are so fast he doesnt have a chance to even check out the pellets or krill because they are eaten so quickly. any tips on converting him to these foods would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!
