Anti-Iraq war people, can you explain this to me?

Why is it that SOME of you-not all-seem to think that the lives of Americans are inherently more valuable than those of, for instance, the Marsh Arabs and Kurds who were slaughtered at the behest of Saddam Hussein? Could not such a viewpoint be construed as bigoted or nationalistic, or both?
